Thanks Peter,
Was great meeting you, hope you managed to find a bed for the night (and hopefully my instructions for how to get there weren’t too hard to follow!).
The car is great! It should have come this way from the factory. It doesn’t feel like it’s over-working at all, so they must hold them back an awful lot in stock trim.
It’s nice now for it to continues pulling when previously it was running out of puff and you’d be looking for the next gear. I’ve also installed the “infamous” ECU spacer, which lets it breath a little easier (the ECU sits extremely close to the bell housing inside the air box, to the point that it restricts airflow in the higher rpms).
I’m yet to post on the forums, but will do so soon. I’ll definitely put the word out that you’ll be back. I know there’s another new Mondeo XR5 owner in Wollongong that is keen to get a Bluefin.
I’ve also got somebody from work who is considering getting a new Golf GTi and is very interested in what you can do for him.
I managed to get the software installed onto my virtual machine and it read the handset, transferred the file to the Superchips server and they confirmed it for me. I’ll have the car going in for a service in the next couple of weeks, so I’ll see if they overwrite the map (I will drop it back to the stock tune for the service).
Talk to you later,
Michael
